I ’ve been on the CiSE editorial board since the magazine was founded by George Cybenko, roughly 18 years ago. I’ve guest edited multiple special issues for CiSE (including this one) over that span, and I’ve served as an associate editor in chief for about 10 years. CISE-TR-01-003: Surface envelopes

Surface envelopes are tight, two-sided enclosures of composite spline surfaces. This paper shows how to construct the two hulls of the enclosure so that matched triangle pairs sandwich a given nonlinear, curved surface consisting of tensor-product Bézier patches.
